Providing stable foundations and encouraging creative curiosity for our pupils.
Welcome to our exciting learning experience at First Impresions International School’s Kindergarten. You will be amazed at the amount of learning that will take place. We are excited about our strong Kindergarten team. Our team is made up of talented teachers that love and care for the pupils under their care. The teachers with qualities that complement and bring out the best in each other. They all enjoy working together, sharing ideas, and helping pupils become readers and learners for life. We provide a happy and safe environment within which pupils can experience opportunities beyond the classroom so that they can become independent learners and responsible and confident adults. We foster values of courtesy, consideration and individual responsibility and offer a high level of challenge accompanied by equally high levels of support. Our teachers know their pupils, identifying strengths, challenges and passions while striving for a positive school experience and love of learning. Together, we improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children of First Impresions International School’s Kindergarten. All children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals. We look forward to working together as a team and achieving success here at the Kindergarten.
At this stage of their learning, your child will be mainly learning through play-based activities. They will also be learning about routine and developing early literacy and numeracy skills, learning about the world around them and learning social skills.
At First Impreions International School, your child will begin to learn by doing things for themselves, by exploring, investigating, watching and listening, talking, discussing, creating, communicating – in other words, playing. Play is children’s work.
The importance of undertaking extracurricular activities in early childhood development cannot be overstated, they give children fun opportunities to learn new life-skills and build confidence. These are essential, not only as they transition.
From Kindergarten to Prep school, but also as children grow into healthy, happy adults. These activities take place within the school day and a timetable of the activities is sent out to parents in a newsletter at the beginning of every term.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) – EYFS is a curriculum for children aged three to five years old. This is broken down into three prime aspects and four specific areas of learning; Personal, social and emotional development, Communication, Physical development
In addition to these three prime aspects of learning, there are four specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the world and Expressive arts.
Most of the time your child will be learning all seven areas of learning together, in a jumbled way. Therefore, if they spend lots of time in the sand area there is no need for concern! They may well be covering all kinds of important learning: working with different materials; finding out about shape, quantity and volume; creating imaginative worlds; feeling different textures; and even developing motor skills and strength for writing!
